Overview
Designed to be used with all types of Bard Access Systems tip location system ("TLS") PICCs, the Sherlock* II TLS accommodates all placement techniques and is completely portable. The Sherlock* II TLS is the first tip location system in the world that is compatible with an ultrasound system.
It operates by detecting the slight magnetic field generated by the pre-loaded stylet in Bard Access Systems PICC kits marked with
.
Convenient
- Now works on Site~Rite* 5/6 Ultrasound Systems
- Displays real-time catheter tip direction, location and orientation
Accurate
- Audible and visual signals indicate location of tip position with an accuracy of 1 cm
- Displays the direction in which the catheter tip is pointing, increasing your confidence that the catheter is properly positioned
- Helps reduce risks associated with "blind" catheter placement by following the position of the catheter tip
Safe
- Safe for patients with CRM devices (pacemakers and defibrillator) when IFU is followed
- No lead aprons or shields required
- X-ray confirmation can be performed in radiology

Maintenance
- Wipe the sensor after each use according to facility protocol.
Warning: Do not submerge the Sherlock* TLS or allow fluid to enter the display, sensor, A/C adapter or connectors. Damage to the system may occur.
Warning: Do not attempt to sterilize the Sherlock* TLS. Damage to the equipment may occur. - Battery Life
- The system run time on a full battery charge of the Sherlock* I TLS battery is approximately 4 hours.
- The life of the Sherlock* II TLS stand alone battery is approximately 2.5 hours.
- Low battery charge is indicated on the screen by the flashing battery icon.
- When battery power is low, the A/C adapter can be used during catheter placement.
- The Sherlock* I TLS sensor can be used for approximately 20 minutes after the low battery power indicator (flashing battery icon) is first illuminated.
- To recharge the battery fully, connect the A/C adapter to the Sherlock* TLS display. The battery power indicator on the screen will display bars to represent the battery charge.
